The University of Adelaide Enterprise Agreement 2017-2021 will apply to a successful candidate's employment at the University. The University recently temporarily varied its Enterprise Agreement. Please be advised that the salary range, along with other conditions associated with this position, may change in accordance with the variation to the Enterprise Agreement.

Led by Dr Lisa Nicholas, research interests of this group include interest in understanding how a sub-optimal maternal metabolic environment, both before and during pregnancy, programs disadvantage in the offspring leading to health effects that persist along the life course. In particular, the group is interested in understanding mechanisms driving maternal programming of sex-specific differences in pancreatic islet function and how this is related to type 2 diabetes risk in the offspring.

We are seeking an experienced Research Officer who will provide technical, research and administrative support to our researchers to ensure smooth and successful performance of an NHMRC funded project. We are seeking an individual with a strong background in medical research work and who has a keen interest in metabolic research.

To be successful you will need:
  • Proficiency in laboratory procedures for medical research using animal models and cell lines.
  • Familiarity with laboratory management and safety procedures.
  • High level written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well both independently and as a part of a team.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines with an ability to prioritise tasks.
