AKU SONAM is conducting a project named SM-ART Safe Motherhood Accessible Resilience Training. The objective of this project is to develop contextual-based intervention and evaluate the effectiveness of SM-ART intervention in improving resilience, marital harmony and decreasing depression and pregnancy related anxiety in a sample of pregnant women living in low socioeconomic urban areas of Karachi, Pakistan.

This is a grant-funded position for a period of six months.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:
  • counseling and recruiting participants during the Phase II (intervention) at the field site
  • ensuring participant's confidentiality and providing them immediate help or counseling when needed
  • providing assistance to the research team in order to build resources for intervention
  • visiting field site on regular basis to recruit participants and/or supervise intervention
  • providing assistance to Principal Investigator (PI) in planning, preparation and conducting training for midwives as per protocols and guidelines of study
  • providing assistance to the research team in data collection during Phase II
  • ensuring intervention is executed as per the protocol and guidelines of the study
  • providing assistance in data management of Phase II under PI supervision.


Requirements

You should have:
  • a Bachelors degree in Psychology from an HEC recognised or reputable foreign university/institution. Masters degree in Clinical Psychology will be an added advantage
  • minimum two years' of relevant experience
  • excellent communication and interviewing skills
  • good English language competency (written and oral)
  • well-organised and punctual
  • good research skills
  • good report writing skills
  • ability to work well under pressure, multitask, manage time and prioritise tasks.
