The Department is conducting a research study titled A global multicenter, randomized, double blind, placebo controlled, adaptive designed phase III clinical trial.The primary aim of this study is to evaluate the efficacy, safety and immunogenicity of Recombinant Novel Coronavirus Vaccine in adults 18 years of age and older.

This is a short term project based position.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible to:
  • review research protocols, plan daily tasks and daily study flow of 'booked studies' in conjunction with the Research Assistant, Laboratory technologist and study-specific coordinator
  • administer study vaccine to the subjects as per study protocol
  • perform routine technical procedures such as patients' vital signs, IV cannulation, ECG, policies and procedures for approved research protocols
  • provide laboratory support services including phlebotomy and handling of required specimens (e.g. stool, urine, nasal swabs) using standard techniques; processing of specimens (centrifuging, processing, shipment handling and preparation)
  • provide emergency nursing care, crash cart management according to professional standards and in compliance with the policies and procedures of the Clinical Trials Unit
  • practice ICH-GCP as well as ensure compliance of ICH-GCP by Clinical Trails Unit staff
  • ensure compliance of established safety standards and maintain safe environment for patients, families, and clinical staff in accordance with regulatory and institutional health standards
  • coordinate study patient visit schedules with study research coordinators/clinical service coordinators
  • document and maintain accurate records (such as, patients' assessment, subject specific specimens collected, specimen custody, specimen storage records, supply inventories, temperature logs etc.) as part of source documentation, regulatory, research and institutional requirements
  • ensure appropriate handling, disposal of biological and hazardous specimens/materials
  • inform the investigators and study coordinators of any adverse event, incidence and occurrence related to patient/visitor during their visit to the CTU, including a written report of the incident/event and the action(s)


Requirements

You should have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (preferred) or Diploma in Nursing.
  • a valid PNC license
  • minimum of 2 years of work experience as a nurse in a hospital or related setting in inpatient and/or outpatient services
  • prior experience in working with research studies
  • good knowledge of use of computer and basic software
  • prior experience in operating basic medical equipment (eg. Infusion pump, ECG machine etc).
  • excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills
  • ability to handle diverse set of tasks for multiple studies
  • ability to work independently
  • strong communication skills, both verbal and written (English & Urdu).
