Where: Switzerland, German speaking area, in house role

Must have-s: fluent English, willing to relocate for the contract length to Switzerland, strong System Engineering background, 4+ years of Software Architect (system design and integration knowledge, software architecture knowhow with focus on IoT integration, cloud back end)

We have a rare opportunity for an English speaking Senior Software Architect in the field of Medical Devices in Switzerland. My client focuses on the technical development of smart delivery systems. They are looking for their next Software Architect to join them in a full-time contractor position for 12 months within a highly motivated team in Basel! As part of this role, you will be interacting with several teams and supporting development activities including requirement elicitation, system conceptualization, risk assessment, system verification, and clinical validation.

What you do:

Design and implement system engineering approach to support the development and life cycle management of complex products and platforms in the areas of connected drug delivery devices, digital technologies, and SaMD.

Demonstrate strong technical know-how at system level and guide the project teams for product development.

Utilize the system engineering tool for requirement management and translate user and business needs into system/sub-system requirements.

Actively maintain and monitor the traceability from the requirements to the verification activities.

Be the representative of system engineering for the communications with cross-divisional teams, programs, and stakeholders.

Manage external vendors for development and lead the technical discussions with the vendors.

Author relevant design history files and GMP compliant documentations.

Excellent problem-solving skills with an analytical mind.

Who you are:

Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or Computer Science.

At least 4 years of experience in the Medical Devices Industry, covering the Medical Device or SaMD product development, from concept to commercial launch.

Experience in system design/integration.

Deep know-how on the software architecture side; integrating IoT and medical modules to a cloud backend.

ISO 13485; IEC 60601, 62304, 82304.

English fluency.
