Job Details
We are seeking a talented biostatisticians/epidemiologist, with a relevant PhD or MSc and some experience of applying conventional and more advanced (e.g. multilevel models, regression discontinuity, or instrumental variable) analyses to large scale record linkage or epidemiological studies. The successful applicant will work with Professor Deborah Lawlor's team in her Bristol NIHR Biomedical Research Centre Theme and MRC Integrative Epidemiology Unit programme. The main purpose of the research will be to identify: (i) accurate prediction tools for risk stratification of antenatal care; (ii) modifiable causal risk factors for adverse pregnancy and perinatal outcomes and; (iii) the effects of exposure to adverse pregnancy and perinatal outcomes on future offspring health.
The successful applicant will be expected to write and publish analysis plans, undertake QC, main analyses and sensitivity analyses, and draft papers for publication. They will have the opportunity to develop their own research interests.
The post is offered with an open-ended contract and with funding currently available until 31st December 2022. During the term of the appointment, if appropriate, the successful candidate will be supported to apply for personal fellowships.
