We have a substantial programme of applied research, submitting to both the 2014 and 2021 REF exercises. We have invested in excellent facilities. We have an outstanding network of strong partnerships with sports national governing bodies, professional bodies such as CIMSPA, and a variety of professional sports organisations locally and nationally.

We are looking to appoint a new Head of School who can build on these strengths, working with colleagues to create a thriving, successful, distinctive future for the School in a challenging and competitive environment for higher education.

You will have an academic background related to one or more of the academic elements of the School, and a strong track record of academic leadership, management and delivery. You will be enthusiastic about developing a portfolio of courses that is high quality and innovative in developing across disciplinary and professional boundaries. You will have a keen understanding of how to succeed in the competitive climate in which sports education operates, with a proven ability to drive student recruitment, retention and satisfaction. You will also have a track record in building motivated teams of academic staff committed to ensuring a great student experience, with a demonstrably inclusive leadership style.
