We are seeking highly-skilled mathematics educators who are passionate about inspiring teachers and students with innovative and inclusive pedagogies and in communicating the importance of mathematics to careers and opportunities.

Mathematics forms the foundation of many critical aspects of life, learning and work opportunities. We are excited to be partnering with Education Services Australia with funding from the Australian Government Department of Education, Skills and Employment to produce three Mathematics MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) for Australian teachers across Foundation to Year 10. Join us in this exciting opportunity to deliver professional learning workshops and support to Australian teachers to promote the uptake and engagement in Maths in schools by all students.

The Maths Project Officer (Teacher Professional Learning) will work as part of a national team to support the next stage of the Maths MOOC program: a national support program, providing embedded face-to-face support across Australia, with a focus on supporting disadvantaged and Indigenous communities.

This position will suit a home-based office arrangement with travel to schools and workshop venues within your state/territory. These roles are expected to commence in Feb/March 2021.

To be successful you will need:
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the Mathematics learning area (Foundations-10).
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the Numeracy Capability (Foundations-10).
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge in developing and delivering professional learning programs (Foundations-10).
  • Experience, or potential, in establishing learning communities and networking with key stakeholders from a diverse range of organisations.
  • Active participation in teacher professional learning communities in mathematics education.
