Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist

I am working with a leading service in London who are looking for a qualified Speech and Language Therapist to join their service. The service are looking for a qualified Speech and Language Therapist to aid in providing specialist service to children and young people with special educational needs.

With this opportunity you will work as a qualified Paediatrics Speech and Language Therapist for one of the largest charities in the UK that are especially focused on getting the most out of their patients. You will have the chance to work as a qualified Paediatrics Speech and Language Therapist in a leading service receive great flexibility by having the option to work full or part time and choose part time working days and hours so that you will be able to take control and organise around your schedule and needs.

With this Paediatrics Speech and Language Therapist role you will receive diversity in your work load and throughout your day by travelling between education settings, clients' homes, service bases and more. This will allow you the opportunity to divide your workday to ensure you never get bored in your role!

Your responsibilities would be:

  • autonomously providing a speech and language therapy to a designated caseload of children and young people between the ages of 0-25 with a range of special educational needs of which a significant proportion of service users will have English as an additional language (EAL).
  • manage caseloads, travelling between sites (such as education settings, client's homes, Norwood bases etc.) to provide assessment and treatment and to work alongside others to support the implementation of therapy programmes for the children and young people under their care.
  • working collaboratively with children and young people, families, other professionals and colleagues in Health, Education and Social Services and the wider organisation.
  • contribute to departmental meetings, audit, projects, service development activities and the charity work of the organisation.
  • provide advice and deliver training to other professionals and parents/carers on all aspects of speech, language and communication.
  • receive support to provide clinical education, supervision and training to Speech and Language Therapy Students, less experienced practitioners and colleagues from other disciplines.
  • commit to working with an integrated and multi-disciplinary way of working with and for children and young people and their families, including supporting across the services contributing to interventions and packages offered by the wider Education and Family Support Teams.

Requirements:

  • Be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.
  • Paediatrics experience.
