The role

The Senior Research Associate will be part of a team exploring the current role, and potential role, of collective forms of day care (day centres) for older people (65+) in England. The study will have two elements: (i) an analysis of trends in provision and uptake over time, and, (ii) in-depth qualitative research to explore different models of day care provision, including their impact on health and wellbeing outcomes for service users, to identify the wider implications these have for policy and practice development. The main purpose of role is to undertake the qualitative element of the study.

What will I be doing?

Over 24 months you will:

Take responsibility for finalising and piloting the interview schedules, identify and contact potential day care settings to discuss participation in the study, arrange fieldwork and undertake interviews (either in person or on-line) with staff at day centre and older people and their carers who attend and arrange and complete interviews with stakeholders. You will also manage the qualitative data and undertake the analysis and contribute to writing articles etc.

You will be responsible for organising our advisory group meetings and working collaboratively with our research partners to support the reference group meetings. You will set-up and maintain the project webpage on school and university website and be involved in all engagement and dissemination activities.

You should apply if
