About the People Analytics Group :

People Analytics is an emerging field and Capital One is a leader in this space. Our team brings data, analytics, and insights to shape talent decisions and strategy at Capital One. We work closely with the CHRO and business leaders in shaping talent policy, we automate real-time data and insights to improve talent decision-making, and empower our Associates through behavioral nudges. The team is comprised of people with diverse skills and backgrounds including data analysts and engineers, product managers, data scientists, consultants and strategists, business analysts, HR specialists, economists, and IO-psychologists. Our team culture is start-up like (fast-moving, innovative) inside a Fortune 100 company.

About the Role :

This is a unique and high profile role that is responsible for helping develop and shape talent strategies for Capital One. This person will work closely with and advise the CHRO, senior HR leaders, and business leaders across a variety of talent topics such as organizational change, diversity, workforce planning, leadership, performance management, etc. This person will also lead the strategy and development of our nudge recommender system to help our associates grow and develop. This is an opportunity for a highly-motivated individual to use behavioral science, data, products, and technology to impact talent policy and culture change in helping Capital One retain and grow its competitive advantage in talent, amidst a disruptive external environment.

Core Responsibilities :
  • Work with cross-functional teams to shape talent strategies and measure effectiveness
  • Leverage data and analysis to solve complex business and talent problems
  • Lead and inspire a team of analysts, product folks, and IO-psychologists to build products, and develop analytically-based insights and policy recommendations
  • Ability to influence executive HR (Recruiting, HR Consultants, L&D, Diversity, etc) and business partners through data-backed storytelling
  • Product innovation - combine data and behavioral science to develop nudge and recommender system


Qualifications and capabilities desired :

• Strong strategic, white-spacing thinking

• Strategy consulting and/or some product background could be helpful

• Superior problem solving skills, product development, strategy development and strategic influence, people leadership, ability to learn quickly, and a passion for solving talent-related topics

Responsibilities :

• Develop strategic frameworks to frame business problems

• Generate hypotheses to drive insight

• Manage analytical work; provide analytical support to senior leaders

• Present strategic recommendations to senior executives

• Lead and manage a team of up to 7 people

Basic Qualifications :
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At Least 7+ years in some combination of consulting, product, strategy, analytics
