The role

The School of Geographical Sciences is seeing to appoint a one year Lecturer in Glaciology. This is a one year teaching role. You will contribute to the planning, delivery and assessment of undergraduate and taught postgraduate teaching of glaciology and physical geography using a blend of face-to-face and remote methods.

What will I be doing?

You will deliver the following teaching activities in both Teaching Block 2 (January - June 2020/21 and Teaching Block 1 (September - January 2021/22):
  • Teaching the Glaciology component of the Undergraduate Year One unit on Key Concepts in Human and Physical Geography including five lectures and a practical with associated marking or equivalent remotely delivered content and assessment
  • Supervise and mark undergraduate and taught postgraduate dissertations
  • Personal tutoring
  • Participate in the Undergraduate Year-two field course - location and content dependent on coronavirus situation
  • Mark and supervise Undergraduate Year Two group-based projects as part of Research Methods in Physical Geography
