Clinical Psychologist or Counselling Psychologist

I am working with a leading private CAMHS group in the North West of England who are looking for a qualified Clinical Psychologist or Counselling Psychologist to join their service. The service are looking for a qualified Clinical Psychologist or Counselling Psychologist to aid in providing specialist psychological services to young people within a residential and educational setting with SEMH and complex needs.

Due to the nature of the school the service are looking for an experienced Clinical Psychologist or Counselling Psychologist to work with little direction and guidance. With this Clinical Psychologist or Counselling Psychologist role you will work with highly skilled clinical teams, so that you will work as an industry expert and can feel the pride of being directly responsible for the success of yourself, the children and the service as a whole!

With this Clinical Psychologist or Counselling Psychologist role you will receive fully-funded training of your choice to expand your knowledge and experience of the field without being deducted from holiday allowance, so that you will have confidence in the work that you are doing and take pride in being a successful member of the team.

You will receive great flexibility with this Clinical Psychologist or Counselling Psychologist role by having the option to choose a part or full time basis as well as which working days are suitable, so that you will be able to take control and organise around your schedule and needs!

Your responsibilities would be:

  • To provide specialist clinical psychological services to young people that are driven by psychological formulation and incorporates complex data from a range of sources.
  • To lead on developing a psychological formulation for each young person to guide further assessment, and prioritise intervention needs from the wider clinical team.
  • To evaluate and make decisions about different psychological interventions based upon the psychological formulations, current evidence base and risk management.
  • To provide regular therapeutic consultation and guidance to the clinical team, care and education staff members.
  • To liaise with the care and education team and outside agencies/professionals in order to provide co-ordinated psychological care for our young people.
  • To attend clinical supervision provided by the Consultant Clinical Psychologist, in line with HCPC and BPS guidance on clinical supervision.
  • To provide teaching and training to care and education staff members around attachment and mental health issues.

Requirements:

  • Honours degree in psychology, recognised by the British Psychological Society and a recognised post-graduate professional qualification in Clinical Psychology.
  • Be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.
  • CAMHS experience.
