Paediatric Occupational Therapist
I am working with a unique community school in London who are looking for a qualified Paediatric Occupational Therapist to join their service. The service are looking for a qualified Paediatric Occupational Therapist to aid in providing high quality care to pupils with varying difficulties including learning, developmental and physical.
With this Paediatric Occupational Therapist opportunity you will work for a charity that focuses on children in need, so that you can take pride and feel great about making a difference in the life of others!
Because they are focused on getting the most out of their patients each team is made up of occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech and language therapists and more, so that you will have the opportunity to work within a true Multi Disciplinary Team. This will allow you the opportunity to work within an expert clinical team and provide the children with the best care possible, so that you will feel confident in your role as a Paediatric Occupational Therapist!
With this Paediatric Occupational Therapist role you will receive fully-funded training of your choice to expand your knowledge and experience within the field without being deducted from holiday allowance, so that you will have confidence in the work that you are doing and take pride in being a valuable member of the team whilst progressing in your career.
Your responsibilities would be:
- To provide occupational therapy assessment (e.g. functional behavioural and standardised assessments, skilled observation, checklists, histories and interviews) and intervention in accordance with the child's needs and requirements as stated within the statement/EHCP.
- Develop intervention plans based on student needs and regularly evaluate.
- Monitor and reassess the effects of occupational therapy intervention and the need to continue, modify, or discontinue intervention.
- Participates in multidisciplinary meetings to review evaluation results, integrate findings with other disciplines, offer recommendations and develop individual education plans and intervention plans to achieve IEP goals.
- To be an active member of the MDT team and contributes to the strategic planning, monitoring and evaluation.
- Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure team understanding of student occupational performance strengths and needs, through evaluation, educational programme planning and service delivery.
Requirements:
- Honours degree recognised by the British Association of Occupational Therapists.
- Be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.
- 3 + years post OT qualification working in paediatrics.
