The DPsych Counselling Psychology programme at Regent's University London is a professional doctorate in counselling psychology validated by The Open University, with on-going approval from the Health and Care Professions Council and accreditation with the British Psychological Society. We are currently recruiting Lecturers and/or Senior Lecturers to join our friendly programme team.

The post holder/s are likely to participate in the following activities over time: teaching and/or leading of academic modules; acting as a research tutor and supervisor; acting as an internal examiner for viva examinations and/or as an ethics panel member; and acting as a personal tutor. The post holder/s will also support student admissions and carry out course leadership administration for the academic side of the programme. The programme is currently being delivered remotely and this will continue in the Spring term. Flexibility with respect to ongoing working arrangements in the Summer term and following can be discussed.

Lecturer candidates will hold a doctoral degree in counselling psychology, chartered status with the British Psychological Society, and HCPC registration. Applicants with equivalent status in a related clinical psychology or psychotherapeutic field and/or with a track record of research in applied psychology or psychotherapy will be considered. Applicants will have substantial experience of working in NHS and/or equivalent practice settings and will demonstrate a fit with the ethos and teaching modalities of the programme. Experience of postgraduate teaching, assessment and research supervision is desirable, as is experience of clinical supervision. A sound knowledge of qualitative research methodologies is essential. Publications in peer-reviewed journals and Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy would be beneficial.

In addition to the above, Senior Lecturer candidates will have potentially worked in management or leadership positions in NHS and/or equivalent practice settings. They will have experience of doctoral level teaching and assessment and potentially of pathway or component leadership within an academic programme and will ideally have supervised doctoral theses to completion. Fellowship or Senior Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy would also be beneficial.

The post holder will need to understand the nature of work in a multicultural environment and must possess knowledge of the frameworks governing the counselling psychology profession and higher education at postgraduate level.
