Job Details
You will join our creative and innovative team working on the "FogProtect" ( https://fogprotect.eu/ ) and Protego projects ( https://protego-project.eu/ ).
There is considerable potential for career development, e.g. development of commercial products and services in partnership with industry, consultancy, conceptualising and bidding new projects, leading to a Senior Enterprise Fellow positions and beyond. There are also opportunities to develop your skills through creation of state-of-the-art big data and AI technologies to solve problems for industry partners such as IBM, Thales, and Nokia.
Your experience of data-centric solutions will be beneficial to help us transform the way data risks are managed in complex and adaptive systems. The work is part of our research programme tackling big data and AI security challenges in industries such as healthcare, manufacturing and beyond.
You will be responsible for the design and development of models and software solutions that validate, demonstrate and prototype outcomes of research. The role will involve developing algorithms and software solutions that expert systems with AI approaches and may include data modelling, machine learning and deployment of algorithms on distributed big data platforms.

- Data modelling and engineering
- Programming in Python or Java
- Experience of system design paradigms such as OO, SOA and cloud
- Experience of agile development and DevOps pipelines
- PhD or an equivalent professional qualifications and experience in computer science, software engineering or a related discipline
The following would be advantageous
- Experience of security/risk modelling and management
- Machine learning algorithms and frameworks (eg. Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow)
- Experience with any distributed processing technologies (e.g. Apache Spark, Docker, Docker Swarm, Hadoop, Flink)
