The University of Adelaide Enterprise Agreement 2017-2021 will apply to a successful candidate's employment at the University. The University recently temporarily varied its Enterprise Agreement. Please be advised that the salary range, along with other conditions associated with this position, may change in accordance with the variation to the Enterprise Agreement.

Multiple full-time, fixed term positions available until December 2022

Multiple opportunities are available for high-achieving postdoctoral researchers to join the Ovarian Cell Biology and Molecular Endocrinology. The successful candidates will perform research using in vivo and in vitro approaches and incorporating genomics and bioinformatics methods to understand ovarian hormone action and function of the mammalian ovary. The positions will support our overarching research program to improve reproductive health, advance treatments for infertility and identify novel contraceptives through systems biology integrating molecular and physiological systems.

To be successful at Level A you will need:
  • Completion of a PhD in Genomics, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology or similar discipline or have equivalent qualifications or research experience.
  • Evidence of contribution towards research will cell culture and recombinant DNA manipulation, including shRNA and CRISPR based gene knockdowns and functional genomics studies.
  • Experimental design and operation of advanced laboratory and technical equipment to enhance research outcomes relating to cellular phenotyping employing gene expression, microscopy, cytology and image analysis.
  • Experience in strong contribution towards producing conference and seminar papers and submitting publications in research.
  • Ability to provide advice and support to post graduate students.

In addition to the above, to be successful at Level B, you will need:
  • Strong track record in producing high quality research publications and conference presentations relative to opportunity.
  • Demonstrated experience in the preparation of research proposal submissions to external funding bodies.
  • Demonstrated ability to guide and oversee postgraduate and/or honours students in the research area and/or supervise research-support staff.
  • High level organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise and manage workload within a busy environment and meet competing deadlines.
  • Experience in collaborating locally and internationally in the interest of enhancing research outcomes.
