(Level C) $121,256 to $139,445 per annum plus an employer contribution of 17% superannuation may apply

The University of Adelaide Enterprise Agreement 2017-2021 will apply to a successful candidate's employment at the University. The University recently temporarily varied its Enterprise Agreement. Please be advised that the salary range, along with other conditions associated with this position, may change in accordance with the variation to the Enterprise Agreement.

2 x fixed-term, full-time Senior Lecturer (Level C) positions available from January 2021 available for 2 years

The Adelaide Law School is looking to appoint two new academics - 1 in Evidence & Advocacy, and 1 in Administrative Law and/or Intellectual Property. Please specify which role you are applying for in your cover letter and when addressing the selection criteria.

These positions offer an opportunity to become part of a stimulating international and national legal academic environment. Appointed at the rank of Senior Lecturer (Level C), the successful candidate will play important roles in teaching, research and service at one of Australia's leading law schools. The successful candidate can expect to make a significant contribution to the Australian legal academy and to the future of the Australian legal profession.

The Adelaide Law School is one of four schools in the Faculty of the Professions. It is the second oldest law school in Australia with a strong history of academic achievement. The school offers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees and continuing professional development programs for legal practitioners. It is home to a vibrant community of scholars and teachers who are committed to furthering an understanding of the principles and operation of the law.

To be successful you will need:
  • A significant record of high quality scholarship and research: evidenced by a significant record of high quality publications; a higher degree in law, preferably a doctorate, or equivalent; and showing strong potential to attract and supervise higher degree students, and to attract external grant income.
  • Significant experience and achievement in teaching law at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels: including demonstrated effectiveness as a teacher of the highest quality, with appropriate achievements in the administration of courses taught; and the ability and willingness to play a significant role in curriculum design and development of law programs and courses.
  • The ability and willingness to undertake a significant role in contributing to administration in the Law School: including the ability and willingness to work in a harmonious and constructive way in the Law School; the ability and willingness to encourage the intellectual and career aspirations of all staff and students; and a commitment to collegiality and equal opportunity.
  • The ability and willingness to take a significant role in outreach activities of the Law School, and to promote the interests of the Law School and the discipline of law in the University, amongst the legal profession, and in the wider community.


Preference will be given to candidates who have experience in teaching Evidence & Advocacy or Administrative Law and/or Intellectual Property.
