The person hired will work on improving coastal reflection in numerical wave models, using remote sensing data for validation, and the setting up of an automated system for computing sources and propagation of microbaroms.

This position is open in the context of the preparation of future ocean remote sensing missions (Sentinel 3 New Generation and / or STREAM) and the prototyping of an operational service for the analysis and forecasting of microbaroms and microseisms.

The researcher will work in the SIAM team (Ocean remote sensing & air-sea interaction), working on numerical modelling of ocean waves, microbaroms and remote sesing, and will interact with teams at CEA/DAM (near Paris), IPGP (Paris), ECWMF (Reading, UK) and Météo-France (Toulouse). The main advisor is Dr. Fabrice Ardhuin

The candidate will have a PhD in Earth Sciences, with a strong expertise on microbaroms and numerical ocean wave modelling. Some remote sensing experience is a plus.
