A teaching and research opportunity exists for a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer to join the School of Public Health.

In this role, you will have a generalist public health background, such that you are able to teach and coordinate introductory public health subjects at the Bachelors level or health promotion, epidemiology or health program evaluation at the postgraduate level. Actual subjects taught will depend on knowledge and experience. Online teaching experience would be welcome.

You will be appointed as the Deputy Program Coordinator for the Master of Public Health and will supervise the cohort of students undertaking dissertations. Your research areas would ideally align with strengths in our School .

To be successful at Lecturer - Level B you will need:
  • Doctoral or masters qualification in Public Health or a medical degree and substantive public health experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in the conduct of lectures, tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, or workshops.
  • Good communication skills, including the ability to liaise with a diverse range of stakeholders involved in curriculum development and course management.
  • Good understanding of course coordination responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated experience in innovative teaching methods and curriculum development.


In addition to the above to be successful at Senior Lecturer - Level C you will also need:
  • Broad understanding of teaching and research in public health across different disciplinary areas, and current knowledge of issues challenging the health of the public.
  • Demonstrated teaching experience at a tertiary level including experience in course design, course coordination and/or program coordination.
  • Ability to coordinate the program of study of groups of students undertaking research projects.
  • Track record of successful grant applications and/or consultancies and publications.
  • Experience in postgraduate supervision.
