Two fixed-term, full-time Lecturer or Senior Lecturer roles available until December 2021

The Master of Business Administration (Health Management) is a new online offering within the School of Public Health. This is a new stream in the MBA aimed at educating professionals seeking management and business administration roles in health service delivery and health care organisations.

We are seeking academic staff to develop and coordinate two new courses in this specialisation - Management challenges in health and Doing business in health. In this role, you will work as a team and in close collaboration with Pearson Online staff and learning designers to develop all aspects of one of the new courses for the new program. You may teach across both courses or otherwise contribute to teaching in our Public Health suite of courses. Subjects taught will be aligned with your disciplinary background and experience.

To be successful at Lecturer - Level B, you will need:
  • Evidence of strong grasp of pedagogical principles and other notable educational and learning design philosophies, strategies and theories, and ability to apply those concepts.
  • Ability to transform complex and disparate learning resources into professionally designed and effective programs and curriculum.
  • Knowledge of accreditation and quality standards as they relate to course curriculum design.
  • Doctoral qualification or Masters qualification and experience in a cognate discipline such as nursing, medicine, public health, allied health, business.
  • Demonstrated experience in the conduct of tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, and workshops.


In addition to the above to be successful at Senior Lecturer - Level C you will need:
  • Ability to lead other academic staff to promote engagement, collaboration, commitment and performance.
  • Ability to mentor and motivate course authors and course coordinators, especially those that are new to online development and delivery.
  • Skills in contemporary teaching, learning and assessment principles relevant to health management, that are appropriate to different modes of teaching delivery and the needs of particular student cohorts.
  • Extensive knowledge of external governance and compliance requirements for higher education curriculum, including AQF and TEQSA.
  • Knowledge of accreditation and quality standards relating to program and course curriculum design.
