Job Details

Are you passionate about improving and widening access to research?

Are you a highly organised, exceptional manager with the ability to work with diverse groups and stakeholders to deliver excellent results?

The Vaccine Research Registry is a new service rapidly developed and launched in 2020 by the NIHR in partnership with NHS Digital. The registry enables members of the public to give consent for vaccine study teams to contact them about participating in vaccine trials, and aims to enable rapid and efficient recruitment of volunteers to nationally prioritised COVID-19 vaccine trials.

As the Delivery Manager for the service, this new role will be responsible for the day to day delivery of the service, ensuring researchers, volunteers and stakeholders have an exceptional experience of engagement. The post holder will require a thorough knowledge of the NIHR as a central part of the role will involve supporting use of the registry across NIHR infrastructure, especially with research delivery functions. The role will be responsible for coordinating the process of on boarding studies wishing to use the registry by working closely with research delivery; supporting the Senior Product Manager with the continual improvement of the service, for example through user engagement and testing; and ensuring the service is effectively embedded within the Be Part of Research service and community and public engagement programmes. The role will also work closely with NHS Digital to coordinate the efficient access of data within the registry by vaccine study teams.

The variety of the role requires a highly organised individual who can liaise with diverse stakeholders as well as user groups including clinicians, researchers and members of the public and patients. It may suit an individual with a research delivery background, interested in developing experience around public engagement and digital services.

It is a requirement of the role that the individual is already employed within the NIHR and this will be confirmed on the application form. Secondment opportunities for this post will be considered on a six or 12 month basis.
