The role
Smart Internet Lab is looking for professionals working as network engineers to be part of a cross functional team involved in research, architect, design, configuration, deployment of equipment, operation and administration of the 5G testbed in Bristol, towards demonstration of research activities with exemplar end-to-end 5G applications.
What will I be doing?
The successful candidate is required to be hands on with practical work expertise in one or more of the requested skills, knowledge, experience & qualifications as well as the ability to work with colleagues.
You will be involved in research, engineering and administration of test network entities to deliver End-2-End packet service for research. Such activities require ability to build and support cloud networks with knowledge of Linux / Windows operating systems as well as familiarity in programming languages for automating network configurations.
This means, you will be carrying out activities such as: IP-Network design, test equipment configuration and deployment, operation/administration including all communication layers from Services, to Core Network, Transport as well as Fixed & Wireless Access Networks.
