Job Details

The University of Leeds is one of the largest, most prestigious and diverse research-intensive universities in the UK. Our successes are supported by an outstanding community of staff and students, a culture of collaboration across research and education, and a strong financial position. The University plays a key role at the heart of one of the UK's most economically vibrant and compassionate cities, and takes its economic, social, environmental and cultural responsibilities seriously.

Under the leadership of our recently appointed Vice-Chancellor, Professor Simone Buitendijk, our ambition is to become a world leader and innovator in the use of digital technologies, data and digital approaches to support student education, research and innovation, and global lifelong learning. The transformation of Leeds into a world-leading digital university will require academic leadership of the highest order, and we have therefore created the new post of Deputy Vice-Chancellor: Digital Transformation, to lead on the delivery of this fundamental strategic priority.

We are seeking an individual with a passion for digital transformation underpinned by the requisite skills and experience to radically enhance how we deliver education and research through use of digital technologies, data and digital approaches. They will have a strong academic profile as well as proven experience of delivering digital transformation projects and developing and delivering leading-edge educational initiatives. Highly collegial, with demonstrable success in a senior leadership role in a large and complex organisation, they will also have highly attuned political, environmental and cultural awareness, and the ability to think strategically and provide visionary leadership.
