The National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) is seeking an outstanding leader to shape organisational development and learning across the NIHR Clinical Research Network. As the NIHR Clinical Research Network (CRN) Organisational Development and Learning Director, you will provide dynamic leadership across all groups and professions working in the CRN, encouraging innovation, network learning and the delivery of the highest standards of professional practice. As a member of the CRN Executive Team the Director will ensure that NIHR CRN is wholly committed to active clinical engagement and leadership in all its activities
A skilled innovator with knowledge and experience of health and care research delivery, you will possess strong influencing, diplomacy and negotiating skills commanding the respect of directors, managers and clinicians, and you will have a demonstrable record of transformational organisational development and of the support and development of professional groups. The NIHR CRN is a distributed organisation, and so you will be able to provide credible leadership across organisational boundaries and be comfortable working out with conventional management hierarchies. Working with health and care organisations, staff and professional groups, you will have presence and will be able to demonstrate inspirational leadership and influence in a host of settings. With the ability to think strategically and grasp complex policy and political issues, you will have a strong understanding of health and care research policy and practice, and of the opportunities and challenges in maximising health and care research for the benefit of patients and the public.
Your organisational base will be the NIHR CRN Coordinating Centre, with a choice of either Leeds or London locations. The Coordinating Centre encourages flexible working arrangements.
The employer will be the University of Leeds.
Your direct report will be to the CRN Chief Executive Officer.
