Are you an experienced creative practitioner with a passion for teaching?

Do you have technical skills in creative and multimedia practice?

Are you interested in developing your teaching skills in a world-leading media school?

The School of Media and Communication at the University of Leeds is a highly ranked department with a vibrant research culture and a commitment to excellence in teaching.

The School seeks to appoint a Teaching Fellow in Media Practice (Film, Photography and Media) to join us from March 2021 to contribute to teaching provision in film, photography and media. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious creative practitioner to apply their skills to teaching students primarily at undergraduate level. Students on the School's BA Film, Photography and Media and MA Film, Photography and Media undertake a challenging mix of research-based and practice-based learning, equipping them with the knowledge and skills that support careers in the media industries, or beyond.

You will have extensive and up-to-date experience in media production, with skills that apply across media forms and industries. You will be a committed teacher and an outstanding communicator, interested in teaching (not simply training) the next generation of media practitioners. You will be interested in key media debates, will draw on relevant scholarship in your teaching, and will develop teaching methods that encourage students to engage with changing media environments.

We are also advertising a 0.5FTE post of Teaching Fellow in Media Practice (Digital Media) and suitable candidates are encouraged to apply to both posts with the possibility of combining the roles into a full-time post.
