CFD engineer-Top Tier 1 supplier- Automotive

For my clients in Belgium, I am looking for CFD engineer. This is real good opportunities to join a well knowed tier 1 automotive supplier for the development of exhaust lines. For you it means evolving in well founded R&D department where you will learn on a daily basis, develop your skills and value your technical versatility.

Key responsibilities

• Actively support our development teams with predictions and simulations in order to validate the designs
• Interpret simulation results in order to understand physical phenomena and/or make proposals for design improvements
• Physical modelling of the components within the specific environment regarding gasses, temperatures and pressures.
• compose test definitions, guide testing programs and report/present results internally and towards the customers
• Initiate and follow-up necessary correlation programs
• To contribute to the progress of the tools and engineering know-how of energy conversion system simulations.
• Execute Computational Fluid Dynamics

Requirements :

Education and Skills:

• Academic engineer, Master in Mechanical Engineering (optional Energy, CFD)
• Knowledge of the following software (in order of priority):

Fluent, STAR CCM+

NX, Matlab

• Fluent in English, knowledge of customer team language (German, French, Dutch…) is a plus
• Able to function in an engineering team, communicate with customers (on technical items).
• Willing to travel and participate in technical meetings at customer locations. Travel is typically limited to about 2 times per month.

Experience:

• About 5 years' experience in modelling and CFD analysis and optimisations related to backpressure, flow uniformity, mixing, thermal and gas conversions (emissions)
• Experience in an (automotive) R&D environment
