Our groundbreaking, large-scale saliva testing programme will continue throughout 2021 and we are recruiting new colleagues for our programme team.

Following a successful pilot over the summer of 2020, all University of Southampton students and those staff working in close proximity to other people are now invited to take a weekly or fortnightly saliva test for COVID-19. This simple, non-invasive test is taken at home, with samples dropped off at locations across Southampton and Winchester.

The test enables us to identify asymptomatic cases of COVID-19 in our community, so that people can safely self-isolate and break the chain of transmission.

The programme is helping to ensure that our world-changing work at University can continue as safely as possible and that our students can enjoy an excellent educational experience, including the continuation of some face-to-face teaching.

The testing programme team are responsible for ensuring that the logistics of the programme are seamless for our staff and students, including issuing clear instructions, replenishing test pack supplies, liaising with external partners and following up on participant queries.

Our work has helped to inform other mass testing programmes across the UK, and this is an exciting opportunity to join a team that is having a significant and tangible impact at the University of Southampton.

The University COVID Testing Senior Administrator will provide comprehensive operational assistance and administrative support to the COVID Testing Team. This will include coordinating and diarising programme meetings, servicing meetings when required, receiving incoming communications, filtering problems and enquiries, drafting and issue of documentation.

We aim to be an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all sections of the community.
