Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine (GSDM) invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure track position as Chair of the Department of Restorative Sciences & Biomaterials, at the academic rank of Associate Professor or Professor.

The Chair of the Department of Restorative Sciences & Biomaterials is the Department's administrative leader and reports to the Dean. The successful candidate will be a nationally recognized scholar with a strong track record of academic and clinical excellence and have at least five years of significant leadership experience in an academic setting. To be eligible for consideration, the candidate must have a DDS/DMD degree or equivalent, Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Prosthodontics from a CODA accredited program or equivalent, and be eligible for dental licensure in Massachusetts.

The Chair of the Department of Restorative Sciences & Biomaterials is responsible for overseeing the School's ADA-accredited Advanced Education Program in Prosthodontics. The program allows for the combination of residency training with an MSD degree or a DScD in Prosthodontics. The Department also oversees the Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Operative Dentistry and Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Digital Dentistry programs. The Chair collaborates with the Director of the Advanced Education Program in Prosthodontics, the Clinical Director of the Advanced Education Program in Prosthodontics and the Clinical Director of the Certificate programs of Advanced Graduate Study in Operative Dentistry and Digital Dentistry on all aspects of the didactic, clinical and research components of the Programs, including the selection and mentoring of its post­graduate residents, and the organization and oversight of the Advanced Education Program in Prosthodontics curriculum and recruitment, and the hiring and professional development of faculty and staff.

The Chair also collaborates with the Director and Assistant Dean of Biomaterials that directs the Department's biomaterials research mission and is responsible for the MSD and DScD aspects of the programs noted above as well as with other departments at the school and University.
