Assistant Professor, Tenure-Track


The Section of Speech Pathology and Audiology, Department of Head and Neck Surgery at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor rank position in the tenure-track with a focus in providing voice, speech and swallowing evaluation and treatment for cancer patients. Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited university with a degree of Ph.D. Candidates who are ABD (all but degree) may be considered pending experience and program completion. In addition, candidates must have completed a clinical fellowship in speech-language pathology and hold or be eligible for the Certificate of Clinical Competence awarded by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Candidates must also possess a valid and active Texas Medical license to provide speech-language pathology services in the State of Texas.

Faculty effort will include clinical service, research, service and education. The position will require advanced clinical practice in comprehensive speech-language pathology management of oncology patients. The faculty will be expected to develop an independent line of externally funded research. There is ample existing infrastructure and clinical volume to provide rich clinical research opportunities in a multidisciplinary environment. Responsibilities also include teaching of medical trainees and staff, institutional service and program development. The successful candidate will possess qualifications that demonstrate excellence in education, patient care and research.
