Homebased Social Worker

A Local Authority based in the West Midlands is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join their Children with Disabilities Service.

Highlights:

  • Homebased role
  • This is a dedicated Children with Disabilities post, where you will be working with service users who have a range of complex needs
  • Social Workers in the team complete the whole spectrum from assessment all the way through to transitions or permanency
  • Caseloads are low and you will have the support of other professionals such as Support Workers, SEN case workers, Business Support to name a few
  • This is a multi agency team and you will be working closely with clinical staff and as such you will have access to clinical training
  • The Local Authority use a Systemic Approach and Signs of Safety with the aim of integrated other disciplines into Children's services as to provide a more holistic package of care.
  • This is a stable service with the majority of team members having worked within the team for more than a year.
  • Contracts are expected to be made ongoing after the initial 6 month period
  • Pay rates are in line with the West Midlands Memorandum @ £2.34/Hr
  • This is an excellent opportunity for those Social Workers who are keen to broaden their experience as this team covers the whole spectrum from assessment all the way through to transitions or permanency providing the essential experience that is required when applying to different Social Work teams. This post will focus on working with service user with complex needs and their families to help them access resources within the Local Authority to help support them. On occasion the team does have a number of cases which are going through Child Protection, however these are rare.

    The Local Authority have made a significant amount of changes and has adopted more modern approaches to Social Work such as Systemic and Restorative Practice where there is more of an emphasis work with families to address the issue with a view of keeping them together. The service benefits from multi agency working and support from specialist practitioners to help support you with your caseloads and provide professional opinions

    To be considered for this post you should have experience of working in a similar team. Those candidates that have extensive front line experience are also being considered providing them with the opportunity to diversify there experience
