A well established Independent Fostering Agency is looking for a Registered Fostering Manager in the Yorkshire area. This is a permanent role, offering you stability.

Our client uses the Mocking Bird Family Model, This is a programme that works to improves the stability of fostering placements and strengthens the relationships between carers, children and young people, fostering services and birth families.

Responsibilities:

  • You will be the Registered manager and be accountable to Ofsted for its operation within the statutory framework.
  • Make sure the agency provides outstanding care and the best possible results for the children and child protection.
  • You will be expected to take part in regular supervision and yearly appraisal and be committed to your own professional development.
  • You will have to attend internal/ external meetings as well as training events and conferences.
  • Be responsible for company policies (including Equality's policy) and procedures and make sure they are adhered to and that work is done in accordance with the companies values, aims and ethos.

The Role:

  • You will act as the Ofsted Registered Manager and ensure services are fully compliant with legislative and regulatory requirements
  • Develop a service that is responsive to need by ensuring all stakeholders have a clear voice in service delivery and design
  • Making sure the companies ethos-The Mockingbird Family Model is followed
  • You will have to ensure that targets and performance are achieved and follow the agency's business plan
  • Demonstrate leadership in recruiting, training and supervising foster carers in line with regulations and making sure the service provides the best standards of care for the children and young people in the agency's care.
  • Assign fostering assessments and supervise external assessors.
  • Ensuring the Fostering Panel operates within statutory requirements and performs to the highest standard.
  • Support organic growth by continuously developing market strategies to amplify recruitment within specific geographical regions.
  • Take responsibility for the management, deployment and control of delegated budgets.
  • Ensuring the well-being of employees and service users by promoting and complying with health and safety regulations, policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Be a qualified social worker with a minimum 5 years experience working with children and families
  • Fostering experience ideally experience within an Independent Fostering Agency
  • People management and/or supervision experience
  • Leadership and Management qualification preferred
  • Previous experience in database operation
  • Be able to meet deadlines and work in a busy environment
  • Be flexible and able to adapt to situations
  • Be able to work individually and as part of a team
