We are looking for a Qualified Social Worker in the Disabled Children's Service, in a frontline Child Protection Team in the East Midlands. This is an ongoing locum Social Work role and we need your CWD expertise.

Job type:Locum

Salary: £30 - £32 per hour

Duration:Ongoing

Startdate: ASAP

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years experience, with experience of legal processes and court work. You will be familiar with statutory processes in relation to Children with Disabilities and will be working across the borough.

Main duties include:

  • Provide a service to children with disabilities and their families
  • Listen to children, respect their views and champion their rights ensuring that each child's voice informs all of our work. We work with children and their families in a person centred way as well as working with a range of professionals to develop effective, multi-agency plans with measurable outcomes
  • Work with children with a wide range of additional needs including complex health needs and with children who have life limiting conditions.
  • Undertake home visits to gather information to establish any safeguarding concerns - initial child /family needs assessments
  • Carry a varied a caseload including Children In Need, Children subject to Child Protection Plans, Looked After Children and those in the process of transition to adult services.
  • Work within the Courts, taking statutory action when necessary to protect a child
  • Duty rota cover - front line social work

Essential requirements:

  • Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification
  • Registration with Social Work England
  • Experience working with Children with Disabilities
