What You Will Achieve

As an Associate Scientist, you will be at the center of our operations and will find that everything we do, every day, is in line with an unwavering commitment to quality. You will join the Analytical R&D organization within Biotherapeutics Pharmaceutical Sciences in Morrisville, NC. The group supports manufacturing process development and testing of clinical drug candidates in the R&D setting. It also performs analytical method development, verification, qualification and transfer. You will be responsible for applying variety of analytical methods to the assessment of product quality, quantification of impurities, and characterization across projects and thus enable development of biotherapeutics, vaccines, and gene therapies. It is your focus and commitment that will help in making Pfizer ready to achieve new milestones and help patients across the globe.

How You Will Achieve It
  • Complete all Good Laboratory Practice and safety training in compliance with departmental requirements and follow appropriate safety practices in the workplace.
  • Be responsible for supporting laboratory procedures such as sample receiving, material ordering, and general lab maintenance.
  • Become proficient in a breadth of analytical methodologies including real-time PCR, HPLC, electrophoresis, cell-based assays, and other relevant biochemical analysis methods.
  • Perform various experiments for analytical method development/qualification/validation and characterization for biological therapeutics.
  • Independently analyze and provide conclusions regarding experimental data generated.
  • Document analytical results in regulated systems and technical reports demonstrating attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • You will interact effectively with peers and leaders as part of a multi-disciplinary team and thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.


Qualifications

Must-Have
  • BS in chemistry, biochemistry, biology or related field with 0-2 years of relevant laboratory experience.
  • Excellent documentation skills with high attention to detail.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.


Nice-to-Have
  • Experience with laboratory data systems.
  • Working knowledge and ability to operate analytical and physical techniques used for the characterization of pharmaceutical substances and products.
  • Experience in the research and development of gene therapies or related entities.
