What You Will Achieve

As an Associate Scientist, you will be at the center of our operations and you'll find that everything we do, every day, is in line with an unwavering commitment to quality. You will have the important role of generating high-quality immunoassay data in a regulated Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) setting to support Pfizer's vaccine programs, according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

You will perform various aspects of ligand binding immunoassays to support throughput activities and provide testing support for both clinical and non-clinical research programs. Your strong foundation in general scientific practices, its principles and concepts will help in meeting critical deadlines. You will be relied on as a technical contributor to assess the assigned tasks and make decisions that involve application of your knowledge. It is your hard work and focus that will make Pfizer ready to achieve new milestones and help patients across the globe.

How You Will Achieve It
  • Perform job responsibilities and clinical assays in accordance with SOPs, cGLP and all other regulatory agency requirements.
  • Perform various duties to assist in assay throughput to complete testing of human and animal samples from clinical and toxicology studies, including reagent preparation, inventory, equipment maintenance, data review, and data archiving, when required.
  • Perform assays to support critical reagent evaluation, qualification, and troubleshooting.
  • Document all aspects of assay throughput, to ensure accurate, clear and complete records in accordance to cGDP requirements
  • Collaborate with colleagues to build effective communication practices.
  • Support laboratory maintenance, including but limited to, ordering/restocking supplies and ensuring cleanliness and compliance.
  • Support authoring and revising documents associated with ligand binding immunoassays, including SOPs and reports.
  • Present investigational results/progress updates at group meetings, when required.
  • Complete all cGLP, safety and corporate training in conformance with departmental requirements.


Qualifications

Must-Have
  • BS or MS in a relevant field of science.
  • 0-3 years of hands-on lab experience in a relevant field.
  • Ability to collaborate and work in a team environment.
  • Excellent record keeping abilities.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with relevant scientific software is a plus.


Nice-to-Have
  • Experience working in a regulated laboratory environment is a plus.
  • Experience managing reagent inventory and aliquoting is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Luminex technology and aseptic techniques is a plus.
  • Knowledge of cGLP/GDP.
