ROLE SUMMARY

The Pfizer Global Medical Grants program, aligned with Pfizer business interests, allows for the support of independent research, and dissemination of emerging science to close knowledge and practice gaps, while helping to build the capabilities of healthcare systems to plan for and manage change . The Grant Manager works as part of a highly matrixed team, interacting with team members within GMG and MAPS Operations and Effectiveness (MAPS O&E), as well as with stakeholders from inside and outside of the company to ensure all grants are processed and managed in an effective and compliant manner. Those in this role will 1) manage the clinical drug supply responsibilities for all research grants, 2) Manage the grant system user access roles, 3) Serve as main point of contact within GMG for any Safety related queries that arise related to ISRs , 4) Manage complex contracting, and 5) manage the global competitive grant program .

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

For all grant /project types (clinical research, Investigator Initiated Research, non-interventional research, Medical Education, and Clinical Research Collaborations):

Clinical Drug Supply Process
  • Serve as the overall manager for clinical drug related submissions and queries globally for research grants , consolidating the responsibility of existing Grant Managers.
  • Partner with Global Clinical Supply colleagues to establish high level supply chain strategies to ensure appropriate supply is available to support investigator sponsored research across all Therapeutic Areas.
  • Provide key input in review process for clinical research grants, giving feedback to teams related to availability/feasibility of providing drug supply as requested by investigators.
  • Issue guidance with Global Clinical Supply (GCS) and ensure s appropriate documentation is provided to sites for regulatory submission.
  • Monitor study milestones and timelines to ensure adequate drug coverage for duration of the research studies.


Grant System Support
  • Oversee the process user access request for the Pfizer Medical Grant system - review access requests, determine the appropriate level of access required and work with Business Operations to implement.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders in GMG, O&E, the grant system vendor, and BT to review the process for system workflow changes/customizations and to man age the logistics for such implementation s.
  • Conduct f inancial operations: budget management , accruals, forecasting.


Safety Point of C ontact
  • Serve as main point of contact within GMG for any Safety related queries that arise related to ISRs.
  • Partner with GMG to manage any safety deviations related to reporting, which includes participation in scheduled Pharmacovigilance Policy Committee meetings, as required.
  • Work closely with internal safety contacts to stay abreast of current policy and procedure as it relates to reporting Serious Adverse Events for Investigator Sponsored Research.


Complex Contracting
  • Oversee the contracting process for those that deviate from standard templates.
  • Partner with the Outsourcing Lead in GPD to ensure contracts are executed in a timely and compliant manner.


Global Competitive Grant Program
  • Work closely with GMG Grant Officers to set up the timeline for each Request for Proposal (RFP), develop and execute the communication plan.
  • Work closely with GMG Grant Officers to identify External Review Panel (ERP) members.
  • Once identified the Grant Manager will manage the Review proces s to complete contracting, schedule meetings and ensure timely completion of review materials.
  • Work with collaborative partners to establish working relationships for Partner RFPs.


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree required; a Master's Degree in a clinical background a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years ' experience in Grant Operations, Grant Management, clinical trial management, or a similar research operations role.
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of Pfizer's independent grants process and programs.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant Pfizer Therapeutic Area(s), subject matter expertise in grants, collaborations and partnerships, and international experience are desirable.
  • Capable of working independently on multiple projects with ability to prioritize tasks and meet strict deadlines.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a highly matrixed environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Commitment to process improvement.


NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
  • Some requirement for meetings outside of standard working hours.
  • Periodic business travel may be required.
