This medical role will be highly visible, allowing you to support the US Medical Science Liaison (MSL) team through field initiative implementation, medical Voice of the Customer (mVOC)/insights planning, project planning, research/trial initiatives, establishing a framework for internal and field systems/operations, assessing impact and partnering with field medical leadership on MSL strategy to drive field organizational excellence.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide day to day strategy and operations support for the Head, Field Medical Hematology and Hematology MSL Field team, and Head, Field Medical Strategy and Operations.
  • Drive US engagement planning and operations processes during the annual business and medical engagement planning process for key product(s), across US medical operations, US Commercial and Global Oncology engagement teams.
  • Ensure execution of the medical engagement plan through enhanced data collection, establishing milestones and tracking progress, and identifying potential obstacles and alternative solutions.
  • Define the audience, objective and listening priorities for field mVOC initiatives in consultation with the US Medical Affairs Leaders (US MAL), MSL Head, and Legal/Compliance.
  • Oncology field medical interface to structure and deliver performance reports for the Oncology field medical organizations and therapeutic team.
  • Continually evaluate and drive refinement of best-in-class processes; implement new innovations/technologies with demonstrated ability to simplify complex procedures to drive performance for the assigned field medical teams.
  • Enable field readiness of Oncology Field Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) by collaborating with new medical capabilities to ensure therapeutic, operational and governance competency of new colleagues and coordination of long-term training requirements and capability development.
  • Plan and facilitate weekly Oncology MSL Team meeting agenda and action items for assigned team(s) (e.g., Hematology).
  • Participate as assigned in the Oncology Medical Matrix Teams (MMTs).
  • Plan and implement regional and national meetings of the field medical organization including coordination of Field Medical involvement in medical congress activities for assigned team(s).
  • Optimize interactions between the Oncology and key matrix partners by assessing the needs and creating plans for regular communication with internal and external Stakeholders: Oncology Product and Customer Segment Marketing Teams; Commercial Capabilities; BU Sales Leadership and Operations to optimize support at Regional, Area, and National Meetings; Oncology US Medical Affairs and Clinical Development; Medical Platform; and Global Medical Affairs.
  • Oncology field medical leadership designate for governance and compliance-related activities and serve as a key interface with CEVEO and USMA operations and project management.
  • Proactively partner with US Oncology Country Medical Director, Directors and VPs in marketing and sales, and Field Business Managers, to ensure alignment as appropriate.

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
  • MS, RN, PharmD, PhD or equivalent past-graduate degree, MBA or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of pharmaceutical industry experience, including field-based experience in R&D, Medical, US Pharma or Oncology

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
  • Pharmaceutical industry MSL experience or field-based medical experience
  • Familiarity with US Oncology physician networks, cooperative groups, NCCN, NCI, and other associations.
  • Project Management Certification.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Teams, Project Management Tools
  • Ability to prioritize business needs and flexibility to address them when business appropriate
  • Oncology experience in respective team area (Hematology)
  • Familiarity with advanced Excel functions and comfort with PowerPoint
  • Experience leading significant change initiatives
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to work in matrix environment with senior management
  • Mastery of project management skills with the ability to manage large projects simultaneously/Project Management Certification
  • Strong organizational, planning, and business acumen skills
  • Ability to simplify complex concepts and communicate to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to produce concise and simple summaries of concepts and solutions and utilize Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools to support reporting
  • Able to cope under pressure with sometimes conflicting priorities.
  • Build strong business relationships across various departments within GSK.
