Job Summary
The Sr. Director of Media Research is a key leadership position in Comcast Effectv's Data Innovation and Insights team, overseeing Effectv's use of, and representation in media and audience research tools. This leader will represent Effectv's interest and will be the primary interface between internal stakeholders and key measurement vendors and industry groups that regulate/influence the media measurement and research industry. The Sr. Director will build internal awareness and educate internal key stakeholders on the fundamentals of the media measurement industry including methodologies, media math, and accepted uses
Job Description

Core Responsibilities
  • Assemble feedback and construct a point of view from ambiguous and/or widely varying agency, advertiser, and internal stakeholder perspectives.
  • Influence vendor decision-making on methodological changes that may impact Comcast Effectv's perception in marketplace or position in measurement services.
  • Communicate effectively at the executive level to articulate and influence internal stakeholders and affiliate partners to understand Effectv's point of view on measurement.
  • Oversee audit and compliance of services relevant to Effectv based on expertise in Media Rating Council standards, buy-side requirements (ANA, 4As, etc.)
  • Curate and communicate internal documentation on third party measurement methodologies for Effectv's engineering, insights & analytics, sales development, marketing, and sales strategy & training teams.
  • Able to move quickly with a cogent and compelling point of view on next steps for media measurement that accounts for internal stakeholder needs and requirements.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.

Job Specification
  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • 15+ years of relevant work experience in audience research, local and affiliate research, and media research
  • Expertise in television measurement methods from statistical sampling and panel management, to Set Top Box and digital video measurement technologies related to video or mobile video impressions; or location-based advertising.
  • Familiarity with standards of media measurement and associations (MRC, CTAM, COLCAM, 4As, IAB, NAI, AMA, AAF). Participation in industry group committees strongly preferred
