Peripatetic Social Worker

A Local Authority based in the West Midlands is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join their Peripatetic Team.

Highlights:

  • Peripatetic team is undertaking Connected Persons Assessments, Initial Viability Assessments (IVAs), Special Guardianship Assessments, Revocation of Placement Orders and Discharge of Care Orders.
  • Will be working predominantly from home with the need to go out to do some of the assessments
  • Will be supported by a very experienced Team Manager who is very responsive and proactive so you wont have to hold onto anything longer than necessary
  • The Peripatetic is a very stable team with most Social Workers having been there for some time.
  • Pay rates for this post are in line with the memorandum.

    • This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Social Worker to take on a role within a peripatetic team that has the flexibility to adapt to the needs of the service as they change. The team is focusing on Connected Persons Assessments, Initial Viability Assessments (IVAs), Special Guardianship Assessments, Revocation of Placement Orders and Discharge of Care Orders. As such there will be a greater degree of flexibility with this post and members of the team are predominantly home-based.

    You will be joining a largely stable team which has low turnover of staff so there is lower chance of disruption to your caseloads. furthermore you will have the full support of your line manager as well as the wider management team as this post will enable you to work across services.

    To be considered for this post you should have experience of SGO, IVA's, as well as experience within Court.
