An international company specialized in the fragrance and cosmetics industry is currently looking for a Project Leader in Crop Science.

The company is to sustainably identify, grow, harvest and extract the best of nature to provide unique natural sensory experiences in consumers' lives. Among the R&D, the Crop Science team acts from the selection of the best genotype to the production of innovative extracts for Flavors, Fragrances and Cosmetics.

The project leader will produce in a sustainable and competitive way strategic natural extracts in collaboration with local partners all around the globe. These projects associate actions from research on plant physiology to understand the mechanisms of production of scent, improvement of agricultural and harvesting practices, extraction process optimization and new extracts investigation.

Missions

  • Manages long-term projects requiring multi-competences (scientific, technical, management, communication,…) in close collaboration with a foreign partner and its team
  • Identifies key parameters to improve the quality and yield of strategic crops at LMR (supported by the Crop Science experts) and implements the new practices in the field and factory with the support of local teams (agronomists, operation workers, QC analysts…)
  • Develops traceable and more responsible supply chains to secure the volume and quality of the supplies today and for future (Organic, UEBT, For Life certifications for instance)
  • Develop high added-value innovative ingredients for Flavor, Fragrance or Cosmetic applications: new Botanicals, new varieties, new processes, upcycling,…

Profile

  • Evaluate supply chain to highlight potential improving key points, build a pre-project
  • Develop and manage the project during 2-5 years: actors, quality, costs, timing
  • Implement the project planning directly in the field during missions abroad (40% time) with autonomy and rigor with the support of the local partners
  • Able to manage one or more local agronomists working for the partner's organization
  • Fluency in English and good understanding even with not native English-speaking people
  • Able to spend from several weeks to 1 month in mission abroad to cover the harvest season
