Product Development Scientist Thermoplastic Hotmelt

Do you have experience in product development?

I am currently working with a top chemical and consumer goods producer with a globally recognisable presence and brand history.

My client are currently looking for a technical lead of product development and product optimization of thermoplastic hotmelts to be based at their headquarters in Dusseldorf, Germany.

Role:

• Industrialisation of new products, scale up and market introduction of new developed products
• Maintanance of existing product portfolio
• Development of new characterisation methods
• Establishing and maintenance of contacts to stakeholders in the F&BC industry e.g. OEM, OMM, raw material suppliers; building up collaborations with universities and institutes; regular customer visits
• Scouting for new raw materials and technical approaches in order to satisfy market and customer requirements
• Team and people development (3 direct reports)

Skills:

• University degree in Chemistry, preferably in Polymer Chemistry
• Several years of formulating experience in thermoplastic hotmelt adhesives
• Experience in project management
• Entrepreneurial mindset and out-of-the-box thinking, team spirit
• Fluently English language skills, German beneficial
• Willingness to travel, 10% mainly in Europe
