Clinical Psychologist or Counselling Psychologist

I am working with a leading private group in Birmingham who are looking for a qualified and experienced Clinical Psychologist or Counselling Psychologist to join their corporate service. The service are looking for a qualified Clinical Psychologist or Counselling Psychologist to aid in delivering input to corporate adults suffering from Anxiety, Depression or Stress referred via workplace resources.

With this role you will work on a remote basis initially through a company provided laptop, so that you will have the security to work from home during this period of uncertainty. This will provide you with comfort in knowing that you won't be required to put your family or loved ones at risk moving forward with the guarantee of job security.

Your responsibilities would be:

  • To provide psychological assessments of service users based upon the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of data from a variety of sources including clinical interview, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect observations and semi-structured interviews with service users, and on occasion if appropriate family members and others involved in the service users' care.
  • To formulate, implement and recommend intervention plans to colleagues, those in other agencies and for the formal psychological treatment and/or management of a service users' mental health problems, based upon an appropriate conceptual framework of the service users' problems, and employing methods based upon evidence of efficacy across the care settings
  • To be responsible for implementing a range of psychological interventions for individuals and groups, adjusting and refining psychological formulations drawing upon different explanatory models and maintaining several provisional hypotheses.
  • To provide highly specialist psychological advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals contributing directly to service users' formulation, diagnosis, risk and treatment plan.
  • To contribute to the development and maintenance of the highest professional standards of practice, through active participation in internal and external CPD training and development programmes consistent with current recommendations from the HCPC and/or BPS in consultation with the Service.

Requirements:

  • Honours degree in psychology, recognised by the British Psychological Society and a recognised post-graduate professional qualification in Clinical Psychology.
  • Be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.
  • Experience working within Adult Mental Health.
