Job Details

The role/responsibilities

  • To provide psychological support, assessment and advisory to and on behalf of the children and young people, working with schools, homes, families, originating education departments, and other associated professionals.
  • To provide an effective consultation, assessment, advice and intervention service for the children who may have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
  • To help schools plan to minimise children's difficulties.
  • To provide in-service training for teachers, residential staff and other professionals in the organization, regarding children's needs.
  • To link with, inform and advise LA officers and advisers regarding the needs of children and your people placed in the client's services.
  • Adopt a proactive approach to developing and maintaining excellent relationships and communication channels with a wide range of contacts including managers, external Professionals, families, and relevant others.
  • Ensure conformance to equal opportunity and GDPR policies.
  • The postholder will have contact with children, parent/carers, teachers, headteachers, governors, La and Social Care officers and a wide range of professionals and other staff from all agencies providing services to the local community.

Requirements:

  • HCPC Registered Educational Psychologist
  • Time management, administrative, organizational skills
  • Enthusiastic team player and excellent communication skills
  • Computer skills
  • Driving license and access to own vehicle
  • Strong negotiating and influencing skills
  • Knowledge of current psychological theory and research and the ability to apply this knowledge within educational settings.
