Are you an experience Oncology Medical Science Liaison, looking to be part of an innovative, dynamic and growing organization?

GSK's MSL team is looking for a Senior Oncology Medical Science Liaison to disseminate important safety information to the healthcare profession within a defined geographical business area. This includes the support of clinical development activities and programs including GSK and Investigator sponsored studies as well as collaborating with R&D staff to improve site performance. Provide general insight into GSK research interests and field inquiries regarding investigator sponsored scientific or clinical research projects.

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:

  • Takes initiative for the benefit of others and positively impact team culture by acting as a role model of GSK values and expectations, coach, mentor for new or less experienced MSLs on processes, technical and behavioral competences.
  • Serving as an established leader and serve in an acting up capacity for the Field Directors, including resolving difficult situations.
  • Acting independently as a lead with the office-based medical affairs or research and development teams as a product lead on Medical Matrix teams, Medical Commercial Strategy Teams or other internal initiatives important to the business. This could include leading a GSK-sponsored Advisory Boards as requested and in accordance with the applicable policies or a lead at a key scientific meeting. Leading the GSK or ISS/Collaborative Sponsored studies for the therapeutic area working with the Clinical Teams on milestone achievements.
  • Are expected to be agile and adaptable in order to interface and provide value across a continuum of both Internal and External Stakeholders (External Experts and other healthcare professionals within assigned geography/therapy area, investigators and potential investigators, professional societies, advocacy groups, and formulary decision makers) in a non-promotional manner and be responsive to unsolicited inquires
  • Provides scientific training to colleagues within field medical team, or the scientific training lead for GSK sales representatives regarding GSK products and the conditions they treat utilizing approved Sales Training materials.
  • Builds strong scientific acumen by identifying education gaps and leading one or more scientific or strategic TA projects to elevate the team acumen or increase visibility of the team
  • Diverse problem solving with limited information available. Able to anticipate medium to long term issues
  • Disseminate important safety information to the healthcare profession as directed by the Medical Affairs or Research and Development teams or the Dear Healthcare Provider Letter (DHPL) process.
  • Deliver Non-Promotional Scientific Discussions (NPSD) for a GSK medicine that is on label or consistent with the label to inform and educate HCPs on the appropriate use of our medicines in patients.Deliver scientific / pipeline presentations to formulary committees and HCPs per documented unsolicited request
  • Attend both national and regional scientific/medical meetings to gain medical voice of the customer on recent data being presented on products and disease states of interest to GSK
  • Support clinical development activities and programs including GSK and Investigator sponsored studies as well as collaborating with R&D staff to improve site performance. Provide general insight into GSK research interests and field inquiries regarding investigator sponsored scientific or clinical research projects.

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
  • Pharm. D or Ph. D., DNP or MD (with a medical or clinical focus)
  • Possesses solid knowledge of pharmacology and pharmacotherapy in humans and has experience practically applying this knowledge in a clinical setting
  • Experience presentingin both one-on-one and group setting
  • 7+ years relevant experience in field-based medical affairs
  • Must live within territory specified


Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
  • Residency of Post-Doctoral training in a clinical/pharmaceutical practice setting
  • Proven track record of consistent, high performance within Field-Based Medical Affairs
  • Solid grounding in clinical, medical and pharmaceutical science with demonstrated ability to rapidly assimilate specific and detailed knowledge in these areas
  • Experience evaluating and effectively communicating evidence-based medicine with strong scientific communication and presentation skills
  • Leadership skills and experience, including high business acumen, stakeholder management, as well as successful project participation and completion.
  • Demonstrated excellence in mentoring fellow MSLs, leading complex field based medical team initiatives, participating in and representing field-based medical on internal cross-functional team, and contributing to strategic planning and development of team's objectives.
