The UTS Student Administration Unit is currently recruiting for a Ceremonies and Events Officer. This role is part of a team that is responsible for the delivery of high-quality graduation experiences. Graduations are high-profile university events that are integral to the university community.

Detailed Description

If successful in applying for this role, you will be responsible for:
  • planning, organisation and implementation of graduation ceremonies;
  • liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless events - this may include VIP guests such as Speakers and Award recipients, senior executive staff, students and their families;
  • communicating with service providers and suppliers such as internal marketing unit, external regalia supplier, printers, photographers, AV technicians etc;
  • ordering supplies, managing stock levels of academic regalia and invoicing;
  • responding to student and staff enquires regarding graduation;
  • writing reports, briefing notes and doing background research; drafting formal letters, training documents;
  • on ceremony days: briefing staff, greeting students and guests, preparing the hall for ceremonies, ushering large crowds, managing flow of ceremony; and
  • contributing to operational improvements.

  • Able to work independently and as part of a team in a busy work environment.
