The Financial Services Unit (FSU) provides financial services that support the delivery of excellence in teaching and learning, research and external engagement.

About the role

The Head of Faculty Finance is responsible for leading the development and implementation of a professional finance function that provides UTS with strategic analysis, insight and advice to enhance decision-making and to enable the University to meet its financial and strategic performance accountabilities.

You will provide leadership and management of the faculty finance function to develop finance capability and to inspire a culture of proactive financial advisory and value-added services to clients.

You will provide high-level support to the CFO and may deputise for the CFO as required to ensure UTS meets it financial operational and strategic objectives.

About you

Key to success in this role will be your familiarity with Higher Education and your extensive experience in building, leading, motivating and managing diverse teams and cross functional and cross organisational projects to achieve high standards of performance, integrity, accountability, and teamwork.

You will also bring to this role:
  • An ACA or CPA qualification and full membership of an internationally recognised professional accounting body
  • Significant Higher Education experience
  • Exceptionally strong leadership, team building and relationship building skills
  • Significant commercial and strategic finance experience and successfully managing change
  • Significant costing and pricing experience, together with coordination of core financial processes such as budgets, forecasting and reporting processes within a large, complex organisation
  • Demonstrated knowledge and awareness of new thinking, research, practices and technologies and their relevance and application in the Higher Education sector
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills, and the ability to build and maintain productive working relationships with diverse and influential stakeholders.

Remuneration
  • An attractive and competitive base salary will be offered to the successful candidate, based on experience.
  • This role attracts 17% superannuation in addition to the base salary.

  • This position is full-time.
