Southampton Business School has an ambitious quality driven strategy, which will see us strengthen our position as a world-class Business School in research, education and enterprise. As an AMBA and AACSB accredited Business School we are seeking to recruit a number of outstanding individuals for key research and teaching positions in a number of disciplines as outlined below to play a crucial role in the School achieving its vision which includes securing EQUIS accreditation within the next 12 months. Applications will be considered from candidates interested in part time hours of 0.6FTE and above.

The Department of Banking and Finance brings together internationally renowned academics who undertake research into, and teach, a wide range of banking and finance-related topics. The Banking and Finance staff have a history of publishing in world leading journals, such as Journal of Financial Economics, Review of Finance, Journal of Money, Credit and Banking, European Journal of Operational Research, and Journal of Financial Intermediation, among others . The Department is supported by two research centres: Centre for Digital Finance, and Centre for Empirical Research in Finance and Banking, where staff are actively engaged in cross-disciplinary research.

We would particularly welcome applications from candidates with a strong quantitative background. You will have a PhD (or equivalent degree/professional qualifications and experience) as well as a well-established academic reputation in your specialist discipline, demonstrated by a significant record of high quality published research (minimum ABS3*level or equivalent standing). Visible, engaged and collegiate you will have extensive experience of teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level and be passionate about developing and disseminating successful learning techniques, as well as a track record in securing research funding.

For applicants interested in a Part Time role, please note: This role is unlikely to support a Certificate of Sponsorship with a part time salary amount (a Certificate of Sponsorship is required to obtain a Skilled Worker visa to work in the UK).
