Come and join our team undertaking ground-breaking research.

You will be working on an EPSRC funded project on magneto optic materials, devices and sensors, sensors for the marine environment, and characterization of optical waveguides. You will undertake research in accordance with the project requirements which will include planning and carrying out experimental work, data analysis and a critical evaluation of results.

To be successful you will have a PhD or equivalent professional qualifications and experience in optoelectronics and experience in dealing with optical fibres/waveguides and related devices and components.

The post will be based at Highfield campus and will involve experimental work in labs. It will also be collaborative within a group of 12 people.

This post is offered on a full time basis for 20 months due to funding restrictions.

Applications for Research Fellow positions will be considered from candidates who are working towards or nearing completion of a relevant PhD qualification. The title of Research Fellow will be applied upon successful completion of the PhD. Prior to the qualification being awarded the title of Senior Research Assistant will be given.
