The Graduate School of Health is located in central Sydney in the Broadway Campus. The School was established in 2011 and has grown to include 6 Disciplines: Pharmacy, Orthoptics, Clinical Psychology, Physiotherapy, Genetic Counselling and Speech Pathology.

The School specialises in high quality graduate-entry master's degrees, research degrees and high impact/translational research. The Graduate School of Health produce research of the highest quality that improves the health and wellbeing of all members of society. The research focus is on people, technology, and innovation that will inform future developments in health policy, practice and education.

Detailed Description

The Academic Services Officer is responsible for supporting the professional and program management of admissions, academic and student related specialities. The incumbent will:
  • Play a key part in achieving the Graduate School of Health's graduate entry coursework recruitment targets by coordinating a high quality admission service as well as assisting colleagues with recruitment-based activities
  • Develop plans to approach projects, implement solutions and perform a professional level of work in the teaching & learning and academic programs portfolios, while supporting education and workforce development activities across the School
  • Be responsible for supporting staff and students in the context of the total curriculum for the disciplines allocated to them (with the flexibility of moving between disciplines as required by the needs of the School)
  • Ensuring enquiries from current students, including complaints, are managed in an effective and discreet manner, while providing a professional level of customer service
  • Monitoring enrolments and enrolment activities, facilitating and supporting the scheduling of exams and generating timetables and timetable variations throughout the year

1. Completion of a degree with extensive experience in administrative fields in the tertiary education sector

2. Demonstrated high level of customer service and administrative skills, especially in a high volume outcomes-based service environment

3. Demonstrated high level of computer literacy with ability and willingness to embrace new technologies, develop and use reporting capabilities and identify opportunities for systems-based process improvements

4. Demonstrated ability to coordinate the evaluation of operational procedures, policies and systems, make recommendations for improvement and implement new solutions

5. Demonstrated attention to detail with ability to analyse and interpret policy, maintain data integrity, resolve problems for students and staff, prepare reports and assess performance

6. Admissions and/or academic programs experience

7. Evidence of implementation of new processes / process improvements
