The role
The Faculty of Engineering at the University of Bristol is looking for a specialist technician to oversee the Communication Systems and Networks Lab.
The Communication Systems and Networks group's world leading research addresses topics such as the Internet of Things (IoT), Massive MIMO, Intelligent Transport Systems, dynamic mmWave networks, full duplex communications, wearable wireless technologies, and wireless/optical network integration.
What will you be doing?
Utilising your extensive knowledge of Radio Frequency and Electronics, or comparable areas of expertise, you will help to manage the facility and provide a consultancy service to staff and students on laboratory specific specialist techniques.
It is essential you can work independently and under pressure towards pre-defined goals, with the ability to deal with and prioritise a range of concurrent activity. You will be a good communicator who can multitask and develop effective working relationships quickly across a range of internal and external contacts.

The following would be advantageous: Knowledge of electronic circuitry for the repair and calibration of electronic equipment; practical experience and knowledge of preparing experimental apparatus in a laboratory environment.
