The Manager of Research Support is responsible for the day-to-day management of all aspects of the research projects under the supervision of the Projects PI, Dr. Caban-Martinez. The research projects include the management of the Caban-Martinez Lab in the Department of Public Health Sciences and the lead point of contact for the administrative management of each grant. The research projects involve partnerships between scientists and program leaders at the University of Miami and many program coordinators and participants throughout the US. The programs conduct its research with diverse populations in different settings. The duties and responsibilities for this position may include, but are not limited to:* Manages and implements daily activities and operations of all research conducted by the PI Dr. Caban-Martinez and under his supervision.* Ensures all research implemented operate within the parameters of research protocols and regulatory/ethical guidelines, meet specified goals, objectives and time frames.* Provide daily supervision to research, support staff and students.* Manages resources pertaining to the referenced projects. This includes; a) Preparation of research applications annual and supplement requests for funding b) Budget development in collaboration with the DPHS administration team c) Allocation of personnel resources to accomplish project goals. d)Coordination of contract execution and approval of expenditures by research teams.* Maintains communications with the Principal Investigators and field coordinators to assess research agendas, evaluate research performance in studies and plan dissemination activities and projects.* Contributes to research concept development, grant and publication writing.* Organizes meetings and site visit scheduling* Develop processes to facilitate research activities across all research projects* Maintains communication and participate in meetings with the DPHS administrative team* Explore and present new funding opportunities available and lead efforts to submit applications* Prepare and submit BERFS for PI and research team.* Reconcile Travel Card expenses for PI* Work with internal and external vendors on preparing/submitting service agreements* Prepare and submit regulatory/IRB documents, work on marketing and dissemination materials for the research projects to recruit participants* Participate in site study calls to discuss and address study implementation barriers*Minimum Qualifications*Bachelor's Degree in a basic science or health discipline with at least three years of relevant experience. Knowledge of business and management principles. Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations. Ability to establish department goals, and objectives that support the strategic plan. Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others. Ability to lead, motivate, develop, and train others.
